東京都写真美術館「日本の新進作家 vol.23」Tokyo Photographic Art Museum — Contemporary Japanese Photography vol.23

美術家／写真家の苅部太郎は、東京都写真美術館のグループ展「ふたたびくみたてる 日本の新進作家 vol.23」に参加します。会期は2026/9/30–2027/1/17、会場は東京都写真美術館（東京・恵比寿）。 出品するのは、画像生成AIに幻の風景を誤読させるシリーズ〈あの海に見える岩を、弓で射よ〉。生成AIを「形而上のカメラ」として意図的に誤用し、「見ること」や「信じること」を支配する不可視のシステムを問う試みです。

11/1（日）には、哲学者の下西風澄さんをお迎えして美術館で対談を行います。下西さんはAIの発展史と人間の精神・意識をめぐって横断的な思索をされており（　https://kazeto.jp/profile/　）、認知とAIをテーマにしてきた本作について、またとない対話になると楽しみにしています。

Artist and photographer Taro Karibe is taking part in the group exhibition "Contemporary Japanese Photography vol.23 — Assembling Anew: Memories, Materials, Context, Technology" at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum. The show runs from 30 September 2026 to 17 January 2027, at the Tokyo Photographic Art Museum (Ebisu, Tokyo).

Karibe presents Aim an Arrow at the Rock in the Ocean, a series in which an image-generating AI is made to misread phantom landscapes. Deliberately misusing generative AI as a "metaphysical camera," the work interrogates the invisible systems that govern how we see — and what we believe. On Sunday, 1 November, Karibe will be in conversation with the philosopher Kazumi Shimonishi at the museum.
